Girls' Science Investigations: The Chemical World

SATURDAY, APRIL 14 - 9AM-2PM
SLOANE PHYSICS LABORATORY, 217 PROSPECT STREET
OPEN TO MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS
Did you know that you can write with fire? Or that a chemical reaction can release the energy in an ordinary Gummi Bear, creating an explosion? Chemical reactions are all around us, even within your own body. In this session, we’ll explore the nature of chemical reactions and how scientists use chemicals in our everyday lives. Snacks and lunch will be served.

The mission of Girls’ Science Investigations (GSI) is to motivate, empower, and interest girls in developing the skills they need to pursue careers in science. This series occurs four times per year, each with its own theme.

Registration required at http://gsi.yale.edu
